Site Head (Vice President)

Job Purpose:

  • The Executive would be responsible for managing complete site operations with a focus on improving operational excellence, environment, safety & quality management, and talent management. The executive would be accountable to provide leadership oversight & administrative support to the team.

Key Responsibilities:

Operations Management

  • Develop and implement strategies to optimize production processes, minimize downtime, capacity utilization, expansion & debottlenecking of projects a site and enhance overall operational efficiency.
  • Monitor production activities & conduct regular audits to ensure compliance and adherence to quality standards, safety guidelines, and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure achievement of production targets as per the defined targets and requirements of the customers.
  • Ensure proper maintenance and operation of mechanical equipment and machinery on the site. This includes conducting regular inspections, coordinating preventive maintenance schedules, and addressing equipment breakdowns or malfunctions promptly.
  • Plan and allocate resources effectively, including personnel, equipment, materials, and utilities, to meet production demands.
  • Develop and implement inventory management systems to ensure accurate tracking, monitoring, and control of materials. This includes conducting regular audits, maintaining appropriate stock levels, and coordinating with procurement teams to ensure timely availability of materials.
  • Provide solutions for all technical issues faced at the plant and develop & implement strategy for debottlenecking/ troubleshooting to achieve efficient production.
  • Monitor, measure, and review performance of reporting divisions against operating plans and standards.
  • Identify and evaluate opportunities for process improvement, cost reduction, and waste minimization.
  • Accountable for all commercial activities at site.

Health, Safety & Environment Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations and promote a strong safety culture across the site.
  • Develop and implement safety procedures, conduct regular safety audits, and address any safety concerns promptly.
  • Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to develop and implement environmental sustainability initiatives.

People Management and Development

  • Responsible for career planning, building skills and competencies of key technical manpower.
  • Develop performance objectives, give periodic feedback, provide recognition for high performance.
  • Strengthen and exhibit organization’s culture and values at the workplace.
  • Ensure cohesive working amongst HOD’s of various functions.

Stakeholder Management

  • Coordinate with various internal and external stakeholders, including senior management, suppliers, and customers.
  • Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to meet customer requirements, resolve customer complaints.
  • Provide regular reports and updates on site performance, production metrics, and key initiatives to senior management.

Candidate Profile

  • B.E.(Chemical)
  • Age: Upto 48; Preferably 45 – 48
  • 18+ years of experience of which, minimum 2 years of experience in heading complete site operations.
  • Experience in managing distributed control system (DCS) operated continuous operations plant is a must.
  • Exposure to managing Polymer plant would be an added advantage.
