Job Purpose
- This is a strategic leadership opportunity to drive international business growth through new customer acquisition, market creation, commercial expansion and development of the company’s CDMO / contract manufacturing business across regulated, semi-regulated and emerging markets. The role will lead the end-to-end commercial function while building long-term customer relationships and a scalable international growth platform.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute the commercial strategy aligned with the company’s growth objectives.
- Identify and develop new business opportunities across regulated, semi-regulated and emerging markets.
- Drive sustainable revenue growth, profitability and market expansion.
- Lead global business development for CDMO / contract manufacturing services.
- Acquire new customers across pharmaceutical, biotechnology and specialty healthcare sectors.
- Build strategic partnerships with international pharmaceutical companies and clients.
- Lead commercial negotiations, pricing discussions and contract finalisation.
- Develop and manage strategic customer relationships and key accounts.
- Drive account growth through cross-selling and long-term collaborations.
- Oversee RFP, RFQ and commercial proposal development.
- Establish pricing strategies balancing competitiveness and profitability.
- Build robust sales forecasting, pipeline management and opportunity tracking systems.
- Work closely with R&D, Technology Transfer, Manufacturing, Regulatory Affairs, Quality, Supply Chain, Finance and Legal.
- Ensure commercial commitments are aligned with operational capabilities.
- Drive compliance with applicable pharmaceutical regulations, quality standards and international business requirements.
Candidate Profile
- BPharm, Life Sciences or related discipline; MBA / postgraduate qualification in Marketing, International Business or General Management preferred.
- 18–25 years of progressive pharmaceutical industry experience.
- 8–10+ years in senior commercial / business leadership roles.
- Strong experience across CDMO, CMO, CRO and/or pharmaceutical formulations businesses.
- Proven international Business Development and commercial growth experience.
- Strong track record in new customer acquisition, contract negotiation and international market creation.
- Established network of international pharmaceutical customers, partners and industry stakeholders.
- Strong exposure to regulated, semi-regulated and emerging markets, particularly the US, UK and Canada.
- Demonstrated ability to build new markets rather than primarily manage established businesses.
- Proven “rainmaker” with strong deal origination, negotiation and closure capabilities.
- Experience working with entrepreneurs and/or high-growth organisations.
- Strong commercial acumen, strategic thinking and execution orientation.
- Ability to build and scale high-performing Business Development teams.
- Strong stakeholder management, communication and relationship-building capabilities.
