Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct & Indirect Procurement Strategy: Drive strategic sourcing and cost optimization across procurement of raw material, capex, engineering goods, MRO items, and plant services ensuring timely availability, quality compliance, and alignment with project and operational requirements.
  • Vendor Consolidation & Cost Optimization: Rationalize and consolidate supplier base across categories to maximize volume leverage, reduce transactional complexity, and deliver sustained cost savings through negotiation excellence and category strategies.
  • Global Sourcing Resilience: Build diversified and risk-mitigated sourcing models to navigate global supply volatility while ensuring continuous availability of critical inputs.
  • Integration Leadership: Lead the harmonization of procurement structures, policies, contracts, and teams across newly acquired businesses, embedding a unified culture of governance, transparency, and efficiency.
  • Digitalization & Analytics: Champion the digital transformation of procurement by deploying e-sourcing tools, contract lifecycle systems, spend visibility dashboards, and intelligent automation to enhance speed, agility, and decision intelligence.
  • Sustainability & Compliance: Uphold the highest standards of procurement governance, ESG compliance, ethical sourcing, and regulatory adherence.
  • Risk Management & Business Continuity: Establish a robust risk framework and contingency plans to mitigate supply chain disruptions from geopolitical, regulatory, or supplier-related events, ensuring uninterrupted material availability.
  • Supplier Relationship Management & Innovation: Build strategic supplier partnerships for co-innovation and value creation, while strengthening supplier capabilities to enhance quality, sustainability, and cost efficiency.
  • Performance Management & Benchmarking: Track key KPIs and leverage market intelligence to drive continuous improvement and maintain a competitive sourcing edge.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner closely with Manufacturing, Finance, Projects, Logistics, and Leadership Teams to align procurement with enterprise-wide priorities and growth ambitions.
  • Capability Building: Attract, develop, and lead a high-performing procurement team with a strong focus on category management, analytical mindset, and commercial acumen.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (preferably Chemical) or Chemistry; a postgraduate qualification in Business Management or Supply Chain Management is desirable.
  • Minimum 25 years of progressive experience in procurement, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role
  • Demonstrated expertise in international sourcing, risk mitigation, digital procurement tools (SAP, Ariba, etc.), and large-scale procurement transformation
  • Hands-on experience in project procurement will be an added advantage, given the company’s significant expansion plans across existing facilities and upcoming greenfield projects.
