Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Implementing strategic plans aligned to the organizational goals. This involves analyzing market trends, forecasting material requirements, and formulating procurement strategies.
- Port handling & managing complete logistics requirements including customs procedures, documentation, & regulatory compliances.
- Developing and executing sourcing strategies, this includes identifying potential suppliers, evaluating their capabilities to ensure quality & reliability, negotiating contracts, and ensuring timely & cost-effective sourcing of materials.
- Leading the material department’s budget, monitoring expenses, and implementing cost-saving initiatives.
- Effective inventory management for minimizing costs and maintaining smooth operations.
- Monitoring stock levels to ensure adequate availability of materials while avoiding excess inventory.
- Optimize the supply chain process, from sourcing of raw materials (including Styrene, ACN & Butadiene – 70% is imports & 30% is domestic sourcing) to delivery of finished products. This involves streamlining processes, improving efficiency, reducing lead times, and collaborating with other departments to ensure smooth coordination.
- Analyze cost drivers, identify areas for improvement, and implement strategies to optimize material costs without compromising quality or service.
- Work closely with quality assurance teams to establish quality control procedures, conduct audits, and resolve any issues related to material quality or non-compliance.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards related to materials sourcing, handling, and environmental impact.
- Identify and mitigate supply chain risks, such as disruptions, price fluctuations, or supplier reliability issues.
- Provide guidance, mentorship, and performance feedback to the team, fostering a productive and collaborative work environment.
Candidate Profile
Qualification & Experience
- BE / B. Tech/ Equivalent degree in Chemical Engineering with MBA in Materials or Logistics Management with 15+ years of experience in material management & procurement.
- Exposure in procurement of either Styrene / ACN / Butadiene would be preferred.
- The current purchase value of BEPL is INR 1000 Cr thus an executive who has managed a similar value of purchases would be an ideal fit.
