Job Purpose

Responsible for providing strategic legal guidance to the organization, ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations and heading the legal team.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide advice to the management team and Executive Directors on various matters, including corporate governance, management related issues, and regulatory/statutory compliance (including but not limited to tax and labour), as applicable and industry specific regulations.
- Develop and implement effective legal strategies to mitigate risks and protect the Company’s interests.
- Drafting, vetting and negotiating contracts, agreements, and other legal documents, ensuring they are aligned with the Company’s goals and objectives.
- Lead and manage the legal team, providing guidance and support on all legal matters, and ensuring timely resolution of legal issues.
- Managing litigation (both civil and criminal) before various courts and tribunals, including arbitrations for the Company.
- Handling intellectual property, property, M&A, lab our, and cross border matters.
- Manage relationships with external legal counsel, consultants, and other stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain a robust legal risk management framework, including policies, procedures, and training programs.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as finance, HR, and operations, to ensure alignment and minimize legal risks.

- Team Management
- Strong understanding of Indian laws, rules, regulations, and industry-specific requirements.
- Sound Knowledge of corporate laws, arbitration, NCLT etc.
- Exposure to commercial, civil & property related matters
- Versatility to deal with legal Consultants / external agencies
Qualifications & Experience
- Law degree (LLB/LLM) from a university recognized by the Bar Council of India.
- 15 years of progressive experience as an Advocate or legal officer with an Indian MNC company, listed company, large private company, or statutory corporation.
- Candidate will provide enrolment details with the State Bar Council, and also membership with any professional body/Bar Associations (if any).
