Job Purpose:
- The executive will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and procuring essential raw materials for all the plant locations. This includes supplier identification, contract negotiation, long-term strategic sourcing, inventory control, and close coordination with the logistics and production teams to ensure cost-effective and timely material availability.
Key Responsibilities:
Sourcing and Supplier Management
- Identify and evaluate potential suppliers for raw materials.
- Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure a stable supply chain.
- Conduct supplier audits and assessments to ensure quality and compliance with company standards.
Procurement Process Management
- Prepare and process purchase orders for raw materials.
- Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing with suppliers.
- Monitor and manage inventory levels to ensure optimal stock without overstocking.
- Coordinate with logistics and warehouse teams for timely delivery and storage.
Market Intelligence and Strategy
- Conduct market research to stay informed about market trends, pricing, and availability of raw materials.
- Develop and implement procurement strategies to minimize costs and mitigate risks.
- Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to procurement activities.
Compliance and Risk Management
- Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and environmental standards.
- Identify and manage risks associated with the procurement of raw materials.
- Develop and implement contingency plans to address supply chain disruptions.
Collaboration & Communication
- Work closely with the production, quality control, and R&D teams to understand raw material requirements.
- Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment on procurement goals and objectives.
- Provide regular updates and reports to senior management on procurement activities and performance.
Key Skills:
- Responsible for Power and Distribution Transformer Radiators and other Fabricated parts.
- Develop strategies to achieve the business’s vision, mission and objectives. Prepare annual operating plans that support strategic direction and correlate with the annual operating budget.
- Develop and monitor Strategy & its implementation to ensure long term financial viability & growth of the business.
- Oversee operations to ensure the highest standards of production efficiency, quality, service and cost-effective management of resources.
- Conversant with industry, best practices in the areas of pre- treatment, sheet metal forming including roll forming, various types of Welding including Seam\Spot\TIG\Co2, various painting processes, hot dip galvanizing etc.
- Should be able to re-align the manufacturing lines for optimum quality and productivity involving possible automation.
- Able to build sustainable mutually beneficial relationships with the key customers amongst the domestic transformer manufacturers, also play a key role in developing overseas markets.
- Support sales function to increase business pipeline / create a presence in market.

Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (preferably a Chemical Engineer) or a Chemistry Graduate. MBA in Supply Chain Management or equivalent is desirable.
- 15–20 years in raw material procurement, especially in fertilizers, bulk chemicals, agrochemicals or petrochemicals Industry.
- Deep understanding of market trends, supplier management, and procurement best practices to ensure the timely and cost- effective supply of quality raw materials.
- Strong knowledge of maritime logistics, including marine insurance, international freight, and maritime laws, is essential given the scale and nature of sourcing involved.
- Demonstrated expertise in negotiating high-value, long-term contracts (covering 92–95% of procurement) as well as spot purchases.
- Proficient in ERP systems, Microsoft Office, and procurement analytics tools for data-driven decision-making.
