Job Purpose
- The Unit Head would be responsible for overseeing the complete manufacturing operations of the explosives and accessories plant, ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant production processes. The incumbent would drive operational excellence across manufacturing, maintenance, safety, manpower management, and statutory compliance while ensuring achievement of production and business targets.
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for operation and manufacturing of Explosives & Accessories, i.e., Electronic Detonator (ED), Detonator Fuse (DF), Slurry & Emulsion, HMX/RDX, TNT, etc. and look after the mechanical maintenance, E&I, Boiler operations.
- Schedule and Planning of breakdown, Preventive, Breakdown Maintenance, Availability, Manpower and root cause analysis.
- Drive production planning, scheduling, and plant operational efficiency as per company protocols.
- Ensure routine inspection and monitoring of key plant equipment and maintain required monthly checklists.
- Compliance of Documentations as per Factories Act (1948), Boilers Act (2025) and Explosives Act (1884).
- Drive safety initiatives across the plant including on-the-job training, safety awareness programs, and Toolbox Talks (TBT).
- Coordinate and liaise with PESO authorities and local regulatory bodies for approvals and compliance matters.
- Build and manage plant teams while ensuring effective coordination across departments.
- Collaborate with senior management, peers, and operational teams to improve manufacturing performance and business outcomes.

Functional Skills
- Good understanding and knowledge of Manufacturing of Explosives and delay Composition in Chemical/Explosives manufacturing processes.
- In-depth knowledge of Production as management tools and knowledge of PESO licensing/regulation.
- Result Oriented, good analytical, trouble shooting, fast decision making, presentation & learning ability.
- Sound knowledge & orientation of safety, business acumen & cost focus.
- Preferable he should be a competent person under PESO.

Educational Qualification & Experience
- Minimum 15-20 Years experience in Manufacturing of Explosives and at least 5 years as a Manufacturing Head / Unit Head.
- B. E. / B. Tech in Chemical Engineering preferred.
