Job Purpose
- To lead and scale the CDMO business, drive revenue growth, deepen strategic customer relationships and expand the company’s presence with global agrochemical innovators. The role will focus on business development, key account management and commercial execution, while working closely with R&D, manufacturing and global teams to deliver integrated customer solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Business Growth & Strategy Execution
- Drive business growth in line with organizational targets.
- Execute strategic priorities including expansion of molecule portfolio and customer base.
- Identify and develop new business opportunities across global markets.
Business Development & Key Account Management
- Manage and grow relationships with key global customers
- Act as the primary commercial interface for strategic accounts.
- Drive long-term contracts, pricing negotiations and customer retention.
- Identify high-value, niche molecules aligned with company capabilities.
Sales P&L Ownership
- Own revenue growth and profitability for the crop protection segment.
- Drive pricing strategy, margin improvement and commercial excellence.
- Monitor pipeline, order book and execution performance.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with R&D (for product development and scale-up), Manufacturing (for capacity planning and delivery), Supply Chain (for execution and timelines)
- Ensure seamless coordination between customer requirements and internal execution.
Market Intelligence & Positioning
- Track global agrochemical trends, regulatory changes and competitive landscape.
- Provide insights for portfolio expansion and strategic decision-making.
- Represent the company at industry forums, exhibitions and customer engagements.
Leadership & Team Development
- Build and mentor a high-performing BD/sales team.
- Drive a performance-oriented, customer-centric culture.
- Act as a future leader with potential to take on broader business responsibilities.
Qualification & Experience
- B.Sc. in Chemistry or B.E./ B. Tech in Chemical Engineering with MBA/PGDM is preferred.
- 18+ years of experience Agrochemicals / specialty chemicals with 3+ years of experience in the CDMO business
- Strong exposure to global markets and customer engagement
- Good understanding of Chemistry principles, chemical value chains, cost drivers within key chemical value chain and emerging trends in the agrochemicals and specialty chemicals sectors
- Proven track record in developing contract manufacturing business opportunities and capability to consistently meet quality and regulatory standards is highly desirable.
